Psalm 7 — Prayer for righteous judgment

1 Lord, my God, I take refuge in You. Save me from all who persecute me, and deliver me. 2 So that they do not tear my soul apart like a lion and rip it to pieces, with no one to deliver. 3 Lord, my God, if I have done this, if there is injustice in my hands, 4 if I repaid with evil the one who lived in peace with me, or without cause robbed the one who opposed me, 5 Then let the enemy pursue my soul and overtake me. let him trample my life to the ground and make my glory dwell in the dust. 6 Rise up, Lord, in Your anger. lift Yourself up against the fury of my enemies, and awaken for me. You have appointed justice. 7 Let the multitude of the peoples surround You, and rule over them from on high. 8 The Lord judges the peoples. Judge me, Lord, according to my righteousness and according to the innocence that is in me. 9 Let the evil of the wicked come to an end, but establish the righteous, for You, O righteous God, are the One who examines hearts and minds. 10 My shield is from God, who saves the upright in heart. 11 God is a righteous Judge, and God is angry with the wicked every day. 12 If a man does not repent, He will sharpen His sword, will bend His bow, and will make it ready. 13 He prepared weapons of death for him and made His arrows fiery. 14 Now, he is in labor with lawlessness. he has conceived with evil and gives birth to a lie. 15 He dug a pit and made it deep, but he fell into the pit he had prepared. 16 His evil will return on his own head, and his lawlessness will come down on his crown. 17 I will give thanks to the Lord for His righteousness, and I will sing a psalm to the name of the Most High Lord.
