Christ heals various diseases and raises a dead girl to life.

1 And He got into the boat, crossed over to the other side, and came to His own city. 2 and now, they brought to him a paralytic lying on a bed. And Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, “Take courage, child. your sins are forgiven you.” 3 And look, some of the scribes said within themselves, “This man is blaspheming.” 4 And Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, “Why are you thinking evil things in your hearts?” 5 Which is easier: to say, “Your sins are forgiven,” or to say, “Get up and walk”? 6 But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins, then he said to the paralytic, “Get up, take your bed, and go to your home.” 7 And he got up and went to his home. 8 When the crowd saw it, they were amazed. They were glorifying God, who had given such authority to people. 9 Jesus, passing on from there, saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax office, and he said to him, “Come, follow me.” 10 And it happened that, as Jesus was reclining at the table in his house, now, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat with Jesus and his disciples. 11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to His disciples, “Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” 12 But when Jesus heard it, he said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.” 13 Go, learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice,’ for I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners. 14 Then John’s disciples came to Jesus and said, “Why do we and the Pharisees often fast, but your disciples do not fast?” 15 And Jesus said to them, “Can the sons of the wedding mourn while the bridegroom is with them? But days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they also will fast.” 16 No one puts a patch of new cloth on an old garment, because it will tear away completely from the garment, and a worse tear will result. 17 Nor do they pour new wine into old wineskins, otherwise the wineskins will tear, the wine will spill, and the wineskins will be ruined. But they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.” 18 While he was speaking these things to them, now, a ruler came, worshiped him, and said, “My daughter has just now died, but come, lay your hand on her, and she will live.” 19 And Jesus got up and followed him, and his disciples also. 20 and now, a woman who had been suffering from bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of Jesus’ garment. 21 For she was saying in her heart, “If only I touch his garment, I will be saved.” 22 But when Jesus turned back, he saw her and said, “Take courage, daughter. your faith has saved you.” And the woman was healed from that very hour. 23 When Jesus came to the ruler’s house, he saw the flute players and the distressed crowd, 24 He said to them, “Go out, because the girl is not dead, but asleep.” And they were mocking Him. 25 And when they had put the people outside, Jesus went in, took the girl by the hand, and she got up. 26 And the report about this spread throughout the whole land. 27 As Jesus was leaving there, two blind men followed him, crying out, saying, “Have mercy on us, Son of David.” 28 And when he came into the house, the blind men came to him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to him, “Yes, Lord.” 29 Then he touched their eyes and said, “Let it be for you according to your faith.” 30 And their eyes were opened. Jesus commanded them and said, “Be careful, let no one know.” 31 But they went out and proclaimed Him throughout the whole land. 32 As they were going out, now, they brought to him a mute man who was demon-possessed. 33 And when the demon was cast out, the mute man spoke. The crowd was amazed and said, “Never has anything like this happened in Israel.” 34 But the Pharisees were saying, “He drives out demons by the ruler of demons.” 35 Jesus was going around all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every pain and sickness among the people. 36 And when He saw the crowds, He had compassion on them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep that have no shepherd. 37 At that time Jesus said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. 38 So plead with the Lord of the harvest, that he may send workers into his harvest.”
