Nor do they pour new wine into old wineskins, otherwise the wineskins will tear, the wine will spill, and the wineskins will be ruined. But they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.”

The point of all this is that Jesus’ doctrine cannot be indiscriminately blended with old religious systems, because that would harm both. Jesus stresses that the way of new life must be applied in a new manner, so that the new and the old are not mixed together in a harmful way.
