Matthew 9:32

As they were going out, now, they brought to him a mute man who was demon-possessed.

This verse presents the next episode of Christ’s ministry, showing that the chain of human needs is not interrupted, and that each new encounter opens a possibility for deliverance. The “mute demoniac” highlights the depth of a person’s condition, when the influence of an evil spirit not only causes suffering, but also takes away speech—the means of human communication and testimony. He is “brought” to Jesus, which bears witness to intercessory care and to confidence that the Lord has authority even over evil spirits. This account once again shows how people came to Jesus with their most varied problems, believing in His power.
