And Jesus got up and followed him, and his disciples also.
In this passage we see Jesus’ immediate response to the ruler’s request. Without delay He got up and went with the ruler, showing His compassion and readiness to help. His disciples also went with Him, which shows that those gathered around Jesus likewise followed His example and, in faith, went where it was necessary to act. This step shows Jesus’ swift response to expressions of faith and His power in the most critical situations of life.
