Psalm 2 — God’s Chosen King
⬅ Back
1
Why did the Gentiles rage, and the peoples devise empty things?
2
The kings of the earth rose up, and the rulers took counsel together against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying,
3
“Let us tear off their bonds and throw off their yoke from us.”
4
But He who dwells in heaven will laugh at them. the Lord will despise them.
5
Then in His anger He will speak to them, and in His wrath He will trouble them, saying.
6
“But I have established My King on My holy mountain Zion.”
7
I will declare the Lord’s decree. He said to Me, “You are My Son, today I have given birth to You.
8
Ask of Me, and I will give you the nations as an inheritance, and the ends of the earth as Your possession.
9
You will shepherd them with an iron rod and shatter them like a potter’s vessel.”
10
Now therefore, O kings, be wise. be instructed, O judges of the earth.
11
Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice before Him with trembling.
12
Kiss the Son, so that He does not become angry and you do not perish on the way, for His anger can be kindled quickly. Blessed are all those who trust in Him.
