As David looks at the night sky, he sees not randomness, but the work of God’s hand. The phrase “the work of Your fingers” poetically shows that the vast universe is not a difficult task for the Lord. What seems unimaginably great to a human being is an expression of His creative wisdom. The moon and the stars are established in order and serve the purpose set by God. This verse teaches the believer to view creation as an invitation to worship. The beauty of nature is not an end in itself, but a testimony about the Creator. At the same time, the greatness of the universe humbles a person. We are not the center of the world, and our problems are not the measure of all reality. Yet within that very greatness, God pays attention to man. Therefore, looking at the heavens can at the same time give rise to awe, humility, and trust.
