For with the judgment you judge, you will also be judged, and with the measure you measure, it will also be measured to you.
In this passage Jesus reminds us that the judgments and standards we use to evaluate others will also be applied to us. If we are harsh and condemning toward others, we will be judged with that same harshness and by those same measures. Jesus urges people to be compassionate, humble, and careful in their judgments, keeping in mind that the standards applied to others are returned to us. Thus, this is a call for people to be more forgiving and loving, so that we may receive the same attitude from others.
