The “fruits” are a person’s deeds, conduct, attitudes, and the practical expression of faith, which reveal the real condition of the heart. Christ shows that true faith is always seen in life, while false faith, however beautifully “packaged” it may be, is ultimately exposed by its fruitlessness. This word is a call to watchfulness, both when evaluating others and when examining one’s own spiritual condition.
