Matthew 6:34

So do not worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow has its own worries. Each day’s troubles are enough on their own.

This saying reminds us that a person’s peace is lost the moment he tries to control the future, forgetting to live in the present and to trust in God’s care. In each day there are that day’s difficulties and trials, and they are already enough. Jesus teaches us to live with a God-pleasing balance: to do the duties of the day and leave the rest in God’s hands. This saying is an exhortation not to burden the soul with fears about the future, because God, who cares for today, will in the same way care for tomorrow. A peaceful heart is born from the confidence that each day brings its grace, and also the measure of its concern, without an unnecessary burden.
