Therefore, do not worry, saying, 'What will we eat?' or 'What will we drink?' or 'What will we wear?'
In this passage Jesus again urges believers not to worry about daily material needs. Food, drink, and clothing are basic necessities that people often become anxious about. But Jesus teaches that these worries are unnecessary, because God knows our needs and cares for them. This word is a call to trust God and to live by faith, without being anxious about the things that God, as our loving Father, provides. Jesus wants us to focus on more important things, such as spiritual values and the kingdom of God, being confident that God will, in due course, meet our material needs as well.
