For this reason I tell you: do not worry about your life, what you will eat and what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
In this passage Jesus urges his followers not to worry about material things—food, drink, or clothing. He reminds us that life and the body are far more important than material goods. What he is saying is that God knows our needs, and we should focus on spiritual values, trusting that God will provide for our material needs. This word calls us to live by faith, without constantly being anxious about everyday concerns, understanding that God cares for everything.
