Matthew 4:24

His fame spread throughout all Syria. They brought to Jesus all the sick who were suffering from various pains and torments: the demon-possessed, the epileptics, and the paralyzed. And he was healing them.

This passage shows how Jesus’ fame was spreading throughout Syria, and people began bringing to Him those suffering from various diseases and torments. Jesus healed everyone, including the demon-possessed (people under the influence of demons), the lunatics (that is, those suffering from madness or other mental problems), and the paralyzed (the disabled). What is important in this passage is that Jesus’ healing was not limited to any one kind of illness; He healed people with different kinds of diseases and problems. This testifies to the comprehensive nature of His power, whose healing includes both physical and spiritual problems. Through Jesus’ healing, the presence of the kingdom of God is made manifest, bringing restoration and freedom to all who come to Him.
