Matthew 26:64

Jesus answered him and said, “You have said it. But I tell you: from now on you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of heaven (Dan. 7:13, Matt. 24:30b).”

These words are a revelation of Jesus’ identity—the divine testimony spoken within a historical trial. To the high priest’s question, “Are you the Christ, the Son of God?”, Jesus answers briefly yet with the full truth: “You have said so.” This statement confirms that what was spoken is true; and more than that, Jesus reveals His divine authority by saying, “From now on you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of heaven.” In this saying, Daniel’s vision (Daniel 7:13) and Christ’s own prophecy (Matthew 24:30b) are woven together, showing His glorious return and heavenly authority. Christ bears witness that He is the Messiah, who will sit at God’s right hand and will come as Judge. This is not only an answer to the high priest, but also a decisive declaration within the judgment: now Jesus is the One being judged, yet He will come as the Judge. In these words there is also a prophetic contrast: they thought they were judging a guilty man, but in reality they were hearing the Lord’s word—a word that is at the same time a word of salvation and of judgment.
