Jesus makes the woman’s deed part of an everlasting remembrance, exalting it and making it an inseparable part of the gospel. This is an exceptional promise: the Lord shows that even a single act done with love and faith is never forgotten before God. The woman’s action, which outwardly seemed simple, through the purity of her heart and her devotion was transformed into a gospel remembrance. “Wherever this Gospel is preached” means that whenever the good news of Christ’s death and resurrection is proclaimed, there this woman’s faith will also be remembered, because her deed also became the prelude to Christ’s sacrifice. This word confirms that in God’s eyes no work done with love is lost. He remembers everything that has been done out of love toward Him, even if it is unnoticed in people’s eyes. Thus, the woman’s deed became a symbol of faith, showing that what is precious before God is not the size of the deed, but the purity of its inspiration.
