Matthew 25:40

And the King will answer and say to them, “Truly I tell you, since you did it to one of these least brothers of mine, you did it to me.”

This saying is the pinnacle of Christ’s teaching, where the mystery of divine love is revealed. The King, Christ, identifies Himself with His little brothers—the needy, the rejected, and the forgotten. He shows that every good deed done toward another in love is, in truth, directed to Him. This saying reveals God’s presence in every person, especially in suffering and defenseless souls. Christ teaches that true service to Him is not limited only to worship or prayer, but is expressed through deeds of brotherly love. “My little brothers” are not only the poor, but all who need attention, comfort, or spiritual support. Thus, Jesus’ word affirms that every expression of love, however small it may seem in people’s eyes, is noticed and valued by God.
