Matthew 25:35

for I was hungry, and you gave me food. I was thirsty, and you gave me water to drink. I was a stranger, and you welcomed me as a guest,

In this saying Jesus explains on what basis the blessed inherit the kingdom. He shows that true faith is always expressed in deeds that are revealed through love. Feeding the hungry, giving water to the thirsty, and welcoming the stranger symbolize not only material help, but also a spiritual attitude: showing kindness to the one in need. Christ identifies Himself with those in need, showing that every good deed, if done with love and a pure heart, is in fact directed to Him. In this way He teaches that true love toward God cannot remain indifferent to human need. This saying reveals the true essence of the Christian life: faith comes alive only when it becomes the power of active love. The good works of the righteous are not merely simple charity, but a manifestation of love born from the heart’s faithfulness. Through these works they show God’s mercy and, by their very lives, become living witnesses of His goodness throughout the whole world.
