Matthew 24:9

Then they will hand you over to affliction and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.

Here Jesus speaks about the trials awaiting His disciples, revealing that faith is not only in words, but in devotion that sometimes brings hardship and sacrifice. He warns that His followers will face hatred, persecution, and even death, simply because they bear His name. Yet this word is not meant to frighten, but to strengthen: Christ shows that suffering for His name is the path to spiritual glory. Indeed, the history of the churches of the first centuries confirmed this prophecy, when believers were persecuted from every side, yet their blood became the seed of new life. This word continues to remind Christians of every age that faith requires not only confession, but also readiness to suffer for the truth.
