Matthew 24:14

And this Gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the Gentiles, and then the end will come.

Jesus reveals the divine course of the world’s history, indicating that the end will not come until the Gospel of the Kingdom is proclaimed among all nations. This shows that God’s purpose is not to punish, but to bring salvation to the ends of the earth. The preaching of the Gospel becomes the measure of God’s righteous judgment, so that no one may say that they did not hear the truth. This word is at once a prophecy and a command, a call to the Church not to cease evangelizing until every people of the world has heard the message of salvation. Indeed, throughout history this word has been fulfilled step by step, from the apostles to our days, as the Gospel spreads across all continents, bearing witness that the end of the world is connected not with war, but with the full hearability of God’s word.
