Then children were brought to Him, so that He might lay His hand on them and pray. But the disciples were rebuking them.
When people were bringing children to Jesus so that they might receive a blessing from Him, the disciples tried to hold them back, thinking that children had no importance in Jesus’ ministry. But this behavior reveals their incomplete understanding both of Jesus’ character and of the values of His kingdom, because Jesus Christ especially lifts up the “little ones,” and He did not reject anyone, regardless of age, position, or importance.
