For where two or three people are gathered in My name, I am there among them.”
In this saying Jesus teaches that his presence is not limited by the number of people or by outward church conditions. When two or three persons gather in his name with faith and a sincere heart, he is present among them. That presence is real and powerful, regardless of place or circumstances. This word is a comfort especially for believers who live far from the center of the church, are in other countries, or for various reasons gather in small numbers. In this way Christ shows that even the smallest gathering united in his name has full value before God and is granted his personal presence.
