In the same way, your heavenly Father does not want any one of these little ones to perish.
Jesus concludes the parable of the lost sheep by revealing the essence of the heavenly Father’s will, which is not only forgiving toward the lost, but in principle does not desire that any small, vulnerable, and overlooked soul should perish. This emphasizes not only the supreme value of every soul in God’s eyes, but also makes one’s attitude toward the “little ones” a true measure of attentiveness and care, in contrast to human notions in which the great are important and the small are ignored.
