nor the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many baskets you picked up?
Jesus, knowing the disciples’ inner hesitation and material concern, rebukes them for their lack of faith, reminding them of the earlier miracles when the bread was multiplied and the crowd was satisfied, and afterward even baskets of leftovers were gathered. He clearly shows that the real problem is not the absence of bread, but the lack of faith and the weakening of spiritual remembrance. The disciples, though witnesses of all this, still had not fully grasped whom they were following and what power was with them. This is also a call to each of us to come out of material-minded thinking, direct our gaze to God, and therefore think in a spiritual way.
