And Jesus, calling his disciples to him, said, “I have compassion on this people, because they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. And I do not want to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.”
In this saying, Jesus’ deep care for the people is seen. The people had already been following Him for three days, listening to the teachings, witnessing the healings, and they were left without food. Jesus does not wait for people to ask, but He Himself notices, seeing their condition. This verse shows that Jesus’ patience and love toward the crowd are complete. He desires that a person receive not only spiritual bread, but also physical strength to continue the journey.
