And Jesus went out from there and went toward the regions of Tyre and Sidon.
This verse indicates how, after His teaching, Jesus leaves the region of Galilee and goes toward Tyre and Sidon, which are located in the area of present-day Lebanon and at that time were pagan cities. This was an important event, because for the first time in the Gospel we see Jesus entering non-Jewish territory. This step carries an important message: the Jews were considered God’s chosen people, yet Jesus’ entry into pagan lands symbolizes that the Gospel is not limited by ethnicity.
