Matthew 14:36

And they were begging him that they might at least touch the edge of his garment, and all who touched were healed.

This passage again emphasizes the depth of the people’s faith. They did not demand Jesus’ attention, His word, or the touch of His hand. It was enough only to touch the edge of His garment. This is also similar to the faith of the woman mentioned in Matthew 9:20, who had been sick for many years and believed that only by touching Jesus’ garment she would be healed. The faith of these people shows that healing does not depend on outward forms, but on the posture of the heart. And Jesus does not reject them. On the contrary, all who approached Him in faith, even with a small touch, were saved and healed. This passage reminds us that sometimes, even within a limited “opportunity to draw near,” God’s power works fully, because God looks not at the method, but at the measure of faith.
