When the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled and said, “It is a ghost,” and they cried out in fear.
In this episode the disciples’ human weakness and fear are seen when they face a reality that is incomprehensible and supernatural to them. Although they had already seen many of Jesus’ miracles, in this situation fear overcomes faith, and they misinterpret what they see, thinking that he is a ghost.
