Matthew 14:24

But the boat was already in the middle of the sea, being battered by the waves, because the wind was against it.

This verse describes the disciples’ condition when they are far from Jesus and face a serious trial. The boat is in the middle of the sea, with no possibility of retreat or quick rescue, and the contrary wind intensifies their sense of helplessness. This situation is not accidental, because it was Jesus Himself who sent them on that route, while He at that moment had withdrawn for prayer. In this way an important spiritual truth is revealed: a person can be in God’s will and at the same time encounter difficulties. The storm does not mean that the Lord is absent, but that faith is being put to the test. This trial is intended not for destruction, but for the strengthening of faith and the deepening of trust, which will be revealed during the events that follow.
