Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.
In this saying, Jesus emphasizes that there can be no neutral position toward Him. Every person either supports Him and becomes a participant in His mission, or, through wrong actions or through inaction, hinders His work. Following Jesus and continuing His mission—“gathering”—means working for the establishment of God’s kingdom by leading people to God. But not following, or “not gathering,” is equivalent to “scattering,” that is, acting against God’s plan.
