Whoever gives you a cup of water because you belong to Christ, truly I tell you, he will not lose his reward.

A cup of water is a small thing by human standards, but if it is given in Christ’s name and with love, acknowledging that one belongs to Him, it is precious before God. This is a comfort for all simple-hearted people who cannot do great works, but can serve with love through small deeds. In the kingdom of heaven no true love is lost. The Lord notices not only great sacrifices, but also the smallest acts of service, if they flow from faith and love.
