In those days again a great crowd had gathered, and they had nothing to eat. Jesus called the disciples to Himself and said.
This episode shows how people, drawn by the powerful influence of Christ’s word and presence, remain with Him, seeking spiritual satisfaction. Yet the Lord does not overlook their human weaknesses and physical needs either. He addresses the disciples, involving them in His work, while also teaching them to notice and to feel in their hearts the needs of people. Here the wholeness of Christ’s care is seen, which concerns a person’s condition both spiritual and bodily.
