Running about throughout that whole region, they began to carry the sick on beds to wherever they heard Jesus was.
People were not only coming themselves, but were also bringing others. This was a sign of living love. They would hear where Jesus was, and would carry their sick there even on beds, doing all this with haste—running this way and that throughout the whole region—which shows the living and spreading nature of faith in motion. So it should be in a spiritual sense as well. Whoever has understood that healing is with Christ is not satisfied with only drawing near himself, but also tries to bring others into His presence. This episode also shows the great movement of the people’s faith. Christ’s renown was connected not with empty noise, but with real mercy, and people sensed that with Him there was what they would not find elsewhere.
