For she was thinking in her mind, “If I touch even His garment, I will be healed.”
Here the depth of the woman’s inner faith is revealed. She was saying to herself that if only she touched His garment, she would be healed. She perhaps had, in some sense, an imperfect understanding of the way Christ works, but at its foundation there was true faith in His power. True faith can sometimes begin with a very humble and weak expression, yet if its object is Christ, it is not rejected. The woman does not trust in her own worthiness, nor in people’s help. She places all her hope in Jesus. This is the chief mark of saving faith: to come out of oneself and cling to the Lord.
