And He was saying to them, “Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear.”
This saying is the important conclusion of the parable and at the same time its main demand. Not everyone who has ears truly hears. “Having ears to hear” means having a heart that is ready to receive, reflect on, and obey the truth. Christ ends this way so that people understand that the word is not merely an interesting story. It requires a response. A person must decide which soil his heart corresponds to. Every parable leads the hearer to self-examination. This call also reminds us that spiritual hearing is God’s gift, but also a person’s responsibility. If a person stubbornly rejects the light, his heart becomes even harder. If he listens with humility, he is drawn more deeply into the truth.
