And another part fell into good soil and bore fruit, which sprang up and grew and yielded, one thirty, one sixty, and one a hundred.
This is the joyful and blessed conclusion of the parable. The seed that falls into good soil not only sprouts, but rises, grows, and bears fruit. This soil is the heart that hears, receives, and keeps the word of God. Here it becomes clear that the purpose of the word is not merely to stir someone or to leave an effect for a moment, but to form a fruitful life. The fruit can be of different measures—thirty, sixty, or a hundredfold. This shows that among believers there can be different degrees of fruitfulness, but the sign of true life is precisely the fruit. God does not demand the same measure from everyone; yet where the word is truly received, some definite fruit must surely appear. This verse is a comfort, because it shows that despite many unsuccessful soils, the seed is not sown in vain. The word of God finds its fertile soil and brings abundant results.
