This final reaction shows that the miracle of the storm not only brought deliverance from danger, but also set the disciples before a deeper question: the question of Christ’s person. They were no longer afraid only of the storm; rather, they were filled with holy fear before Him who calmed that storm. The question “Who then is this?” lies at the heart of the Gospel. Mark continues, step by step, to reveal that Jesus is not an ordinary teacher. He is the Lord whom sicknesses, demons, people, and even the forces of nature obey. This verse also invites us to answer the same question. If the wind and the sea listen to Him, how much more should our hearts bow before Him.
