Mark 4:36

The disciples left the crowd and took Jesus with them, and they departed in a boat. Other boats were also accompanying them.

This verse preserves the vivid and realistic character of the narrative. The disciples take Jesus just as He was at that moment and in the condition He was in after teaching, without preparing or resting. This may also hint at His human weariness after ministry. Mark often emphasizes such details, which make Christ’s true humanity more evident. Jesus was not an abstract image, but a real person, who after ministry was crossing the lake by boat. The mention of the other boats also shows that this event was taking place in the presence of many people and under their attention.
