Mark 4:27

And whether he sleeps or rises, night or day, the seeds will sprout and grow, and he does not know how,

This verse emphasizes the mysterious nature of the kingdom’s growth. The man who sows seed continues his ordinary life—he sleeps and rises—but in the soil a process is taking place that he does not fully understand. The seed sprouts and grows, and he does not know how. This is a very important teaching about ministry. A person can preach, teach, pray, and sow, but the birth of life and its growth are ultimately God’s work. He is the hidden power that makes the word come alive in the heart. This parable is a lesson in patience and trust. Many times we want to see results immediately or explain everything, but God teaches us to wait by faith. Often His kingdom grows in a way we cannot understand in detail, yet that growth is real.
