For whoever has, to him it will be given, and whoever does not have, from him even what he has will be taken away.”
At first glance this saying seems paradoxical, but in a spiritual sense it is very clear. “Having” here refers not to material things, but to the spiritual receptiveness and the living relationship with the truth that a person has. The one who has already received the word with humility and lives in it will receive more light and understanding. But the one who outwardly seems to have something, yet in reality does not keep it and does not live by it, in the end will lose even the illusion of what he has. Thus the kingdom of God affirms that the light received either grows or fades. There is no neutral state. This verse calls us to use and keep what God has already given, so that we may receive more.
