For there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, and nothing secret has been that will not come to light.
This saying expresses a universal truth about the kingdom of God: what may seem hidden now will certainly be revealed in time. The person of Christ, His kingdom, and the power of His word could at first appear concealed or unclear, yet God’s purpose is to reveal them fully in the end. Moreover, in His wisdom God reveals certain things in their proper time, so that they may be understood at the right moment and not be harmed or distorted by the influence of evil; this principle applies both to God’s plan of salvation and to a person’s inner life. At the same time, this is a warning for a person: what someone tries to hide cannot remain concealed before God. But when the time appointed by Him comes, the truth surely comes out into the light. Therefore it is wise to live already in the light, because without question the light will overcome the darkness.
