But those sown in the good soil are the ones who hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit: one yields thirty, another sixty, and another a hundred.”
This verse shows who the true hearer is. He not only hears the word, but receives it, opening his heart and responding with obedience. This receiving is not merely agreeing in the mind, but an inner change, when the word of God begins to work in a person’s life. And its natural result is fruit. Christ clearly shows that true faith does not remain fruitless. It will certainly be seen in a person’s life. The fruit may be in different measures—thirty, sixty, or a hundredfold—but what matters is that in the lives of people who bear fruit there is real change. The fertile soil is the “heart” that receives and keeps the word and allows it to transform its life. And where the heart is humble and open, the word of God works with power, bringing the fruit of love, holiness, faithfulness, and a life obedient to the will of God. This is not only a description, but also an invitation to become that “soil” where the word of God lives and bears fruit.
