Mark 3:35

For whoever does the will of God is My brother and sister and mother.”

The final verse of this chapter brings the chapter to a close with a great and sweet truth. Christ’s true family is defined not by human origin, but by obedience to the will of God. Here the word “does” is extremely important. It is not merely about hearing or confessing, but about a life that obeys God. This shows that faith is real where it bears fruit. At the same time, this word is a great encouragement for every believer in the world. Regardless of origin, nationality, past, or social standing, whoever obeys the will of God is received into that holy family. This is an unimaginable grace. The person who by nature was far from God can, through Christ, become a member of the family. And here is the gentleness and power of the Gospel: through Christ, God not only forgives the repentant, not only heals, but also receives him into His house as one who is close to Him.
