Mark 3:23

And calling them to Himself, He said to them in parables, “How can Satan cast out Satan?

Christ answers not with angry noise, but with wisdom. He calls them to Himself and explains, through parables, the absurdity of the accusation. The question, “How can Satan cast out Satan?” is very simple, and it is precisely that simplicity that exposes the emptiness of their words. If Jesus’ works truly set people free from demonic bonds, then how can that deliverance be part of Satan’s plan? An evil kingdom does not wage war against its own foundations in order to tear itself down. Christ’s answer here is not only logical, but also spiritual. He wants to bring them out of their poisoned way of thinking and give them the opportunity to see the obvious truth. This also shows His patience. Even in the face of serious accusations, He still teaches, still tries to explain, and still leaves the door of repentance open.
