Mark 3:21

And when His own people heard, they went out to seize Him, because they thought that He had gone out of His mind.

This verse presents a very human and at the same time painful scene. Christ’s close ones, probably not understanding the depth of His ministry and seeing the unusual situation that had formed around Him, thought that He had gone too far or had lost His mind. Here it is seen how often the work of God is misunderstood even by those who outwardly are near. Being one of His own or being close according to the flesh still does not mean spiritual understanding. When the Son of God was acting according to the will of His Father, people could notice disorder or extremism even in that holiness. This is also a comfort for those who, on the path of their faith or service, endure misunderstanding from the very closest people. The Lord Himself also bore that portion. But of course He does not stop fulfilling His calling simply because people do not understand.
