Mark 16:19

And He Himself, the Lord Jesus, after speaking with the disciples, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the Father’s right hand.

Christ’s ascension is the glorious completion of His humble earthly ministry and the unveiling of the heavenly kingdom. He who was dishonored on the cross is now taken up into heaven and sits at the right hand of God. “The right hand of God” is the place of authority, honor, and triumphant kingship. This means that Christ’s saving work has been accepted by the Father, and He now reigns as the exalted Lord, Intercessor, and King. His ascension does not mean that He departed from His people with indifference, but that He now works for His church with heavenly authority. The Crucified rose again, the Risen One ascended, and the Ascended One sat on the throne of glory.
