Mark 14:9

Truly I tell you, wherever this Gospel is preached in the whole world, what she has done will also be told in memory of her.”

Christ gives an everlasting remembrance to the woman’s humble deed. People called it waste, but the Lord connected it with the spreading of the Gospel. This shows the difference between God’s judgment and human judgment. What the world considers small or useless can, in God’s eyes, become a great testimony of love. The woman’s name might not have been mentioned here, but the work of her faith remained in the Church’s memory. A deed given to Christ in love is not forgotten. The Lord keeps before Himself every sincere service devoted to Him, and in due time reveals its value.
