Jesus said to them, “Leave her alone. Why are you causing her trouble? For she did a good work for Me.”
Christ defends the woman and calls her deed good. The Lord sees the love that people do not understand. The words “Why are you troubling her” show that the Lord does not disregard the heart’s pain of those who love Him. He values not only the outward act, but also its inner motive. The woman perhaps could not preach, argue, or perform great ministries, but she did what she could: a complete work of love. Christ’s approval is higher than all people’s criticisms.
