Jesus said, “Yes, as you said, I am. And you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power and coming with the clouds of heaven.”
Christ’s answer is an open and glorious testimony. With the words “I am,” He confirms that He Himself is the Christ, the Son of God. But He also declares that those who are judging Him now will one day see Him as the glorified Son of Man, seated at the right hand of Power and coming with the clouds of heaven. This saying brings together Daniel’s vision of the Son of Man and the psalm’s word about the King who sits at the Lord’s right hand (Daniel 7:13–14, Psalm 110:1). Now He stands as One being judged, but in truth He is the future Judge. His humility and His glory are joined here in sacred majesty.
