Get up, let us go. Look, the one who betrays Me has come near.”
Christ wakes the disciples not for flight, but to meet His betrayal. The word “Let us go” shows His voluntary obedience. He was not being seized unexpectedly, but knew the betrayer was drawing near, and He went toward the events as the Son who does the will of God. This is a great mystery: people were coming to arrest Him, but in truth He Himself was voluntarily giving Himself. His courage flowed from submitting to the Father’s will in prayer.
