But after My resurrection I will go ahead of you into Galilee.”
The Lord immediately adds to the word about the fall the promise of resurrection and restoration. The word “But” is a great gospel comfort. The disciples will be scattered, but the story will not end there. Christ will rise and will go before them to Galilee, where He will gather His sheep again. This shows the Savior’s faithfulness toward His weak disciples. He knows their fall, but He also prepares their restoration. The grace of Christ is greater than the disciples’ fear.
